Overview
LR Capital is a professional investment and private equity management company with a focus on private equity transactions in Latvia and Baltic countries. Although the company was officially founded in early 2014, it roots back to the long-year cooperation and investment experience of its founders.
Our team has extensive experience in conducting and managing equity investments. We have professional and international expertise in corporate finance and investment banking, as well as long-term experience of cooperation in private equity transactions and company management.
LR Capital focuses on companies, real estate and various other investment opportunities in the approximate size range from 3 to 20 million EUR, however in cooperation with our investment partners also larger size transactions are considered.
The aim of LR Capital is to engage in transactions with the expected investment horizon of 4 to 7 years.

Partner
Active investor and head of strategic decision making of current investments.
In parallel to LR Capital’s investment activities, since 2005 Jānis is partner and founder of ZGI Capital, chairman of DEPO DIY Supervisory board and chairman of Valpro Supervisory board.
Prior to that, he had held leading positions in Latvia’s commercial banking sector.
From 2009 to 2012 he was member of the board of Latvian private equity and venture capital association.
Current investments: ZGI Capital, Valpro, AJ Power Holding, Circle-K franchises, DEPO DIY.
Realized investments: several real estate investments, JSC Ķekava shares, JSC Spodrība shares.
Girts Rungainis
Partner
Active investor and head of strategic decision making of current investments.
ZGI Capital founder and partner (since 2005), Prudentia founder and partner.
He has been one of the founders and president of Deutsche-Lettische Bank (currently known as Swedbank) (from 1992 to 1996), president of Trasta Komercbanka (from 1997 to 1999), member of the Board of the Association of Latvian Commercial Banks (from 1993 to 1999), as well as advisor to the Prime Minister of Latvia in 1999.
Previously he has also been head of supervisory board of Riga Stock Exchange (from 1999 to 2000), Latvijas Krājbanka (in 2002) and Latvijas Kuģniecība (from 2002 to 2005).
